Dag 1 * Bilbao - Santander
Baggage collection from 12:30 hours at La Concordia station in Bilbao, a unique modernist building dating back to 1902 and is one of the most genuine heritage buildings of Bilbao’s Belle Époque. Free time for lunch until 13:45 hours, when reception of passengers takes place.
Accommodation on board while the Expreso de la Robla train heads to Marrón. Our coach will then take us to Laredo, a beautiful seaside town with a rich historical and artistic heritage. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride to reach Santoña and visit a typical anchovy and northern bonito canning factory. Return to the train in Gama to continue our trip to Santander, the elegant capital of Cantabria. Dinner and overnight in Santander.
Dag 2 * Santander - Llanes
After enjoying our first breakfast onboard, we will start our journey with a sightseeing tour of Santander. Free time and return to the train to travel to Cabezón de la Sal. Coach trip to visit the Altamira Museum and its Neocave, followed by a walking tour of Santillana del Mar. After lunch, our coach will take us to Comillas. Tour of this beautiful town and its picturesque architecture. The El Expreso de la Robla train is waiting in Unquera to head into Asturian lands, reaching Llanes, a beautiful and fishing village in eastern Asturias. Tour before dinner. Night in Llanes.
Dag 3 * Llanes - Nava
Trip onboard the El Expreso de la Robla to Arriondas to visit the Picos de Europa National Park, including Lake Enol and the Shrine of Covadonga. Free time before moving to Cangas de Onís for lunch. Back to the train we will reach Nava, visiting its Cider Museum and enjoying a typical espicha (traditional Asturian food in a winepress, consisting of pinchos and tapas, cider and other drinks). Night in Nava.
Dag 4 * Nava - Oviedo
We start the journey visiting Gijón. Sightseeing tour of this city facing the Cantabrian Sea and alive with cultural events. Free time before returning to the train. Onboard El Expreso de la Robla we will head to Oviedo. Crew farewell and end of the trip in Oviedo’s “Ancho Métrico” Renfe Station at around 14:30 hours..
